Discovering What Causes Suicidal Ideation – Veteran 2.0 Podcast – Episode 1

For the official launch of the Veteran 2.0 podcast, Grey Team’s program director and U.S. Army Reservist, David M. Kirkland, met with our scientific research partner, Dr. Chad Forbes.

Dr. Forbes is head of the Forbes Social Neuroscience Laboratory and Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute at Florida Atlantic University. He and his research team(s) examine the tenets and dynamic modulation of biology, memory, context, and time.

In partnership with Grey Team, Dr. Forbes and his team have set out to discover how these factors lead to suicidal ideation amongst our nation’s military veterans. Forbes lab employs various methods, including brain-based measures and extensive data assessments targeting why veterans experience suicidal ideation at greater rates than their civilian components.

Our hope from this study is to further our understanding of how low-level light therapy affects veterans with mild TBI and severe brain inflammation, which has been linked to increased rates of military suicide.

Special thanks to our Program Partners Weber Medical and WAVi EEG for providing these life-changing tools save military lives.

If you are a military veteran living in the South Florida area (Palm Beach County, Broward County, or Miami Dade County) and are interested in participating in this IRB Brain Study, please complete the form below.
